1. Individuals or families who already have a stable dog can meet with me in person or virtually to learn science backed body movements and co-regulation strategies.  This is ideal for adults and children who are open to learning strategies that they can use daily to help regulate at home.  This program teaches you and your dog the strategies, while you reinforce and expand the training in your home between sessions.  For children desiring to co-regulate, a parent or guardian must be willing and able to take on the role of "trainer."

2. Individuals who do not have a dog but think they might benefit from one and want to try it out before they move forward with getting a dog. Or for someone who believes that they or their child could benefit from canine assisted training, but doesnt want to get a dog.  This program is ideal for adults or children who might qualify for a service dog or home help mate (technically a dog who performs tasks to help you or your child regulate your emotions is considered a home help mate, read more on that here).  This program is specifically designed to help those who would qualify for a Psychiatric or Autism Service Dog.

Because many people have only ever been around pet dogs with poor manners who jumped on them and licked their face, there's a chance that you or your child may not know if you even like dogs. This program gives you the opportunity to engage with a trained dog, who slowly builds trust and relationship through activities designed to activate the safety and connection centers of the brain. If the child is interested and responsive we can begin to introduce co-regulation movements and strategies and allow the dog to engage with you/ the child in a way that calms in the moment while engaging with the dog, but also creates a routine of safety that can be reproduced in other environments.

If the child/ adult responds to training, this could be an indicator that this person is a good candidate to move forward in getting their own dog, or they may plan to continue long term sessions of nervous system regulation with the dogs in our program.
